Following the petition to ban Rev. Mrs Funke Adejumo from entering the UK, EU and US, 12,000 People have risen to counter the petition against the woman of God, as at the time of report.
The petition to Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party Theresa May MP was started by Mayowa Olaiya on change.org and has gathered 5,373 signatures as at the time of this report. It was in order to stop Rev. Funke Adejumo from “coming to the UK to defraud the people and the country.”
A video that has gone viral earlier before the petition has shown where the woman of God was saying to a congregation to sow a seed of $1,000 for financial upliftment. Other videos of similar acts later surfaced.
The U.S petition was started by Daniel Audu and has gathered over 851 signatures for the petition which is seeking 1000 signatures.
The third petition is by Simon Peter who is trying to stop her from “entering the EU to defraud people and the country.” 144 out of the required 200 people have already signed.
A counter-petition started by Temi Chris-Kuye to Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party Theresa May MP has gathered about 12,609 signatures of 15,000.
According to Temi Chris-Kuye, “Call to ban Funke Felix Adejumo is a direct attack on Christianity.
“Unfounded malicious, defamatory and slanderous accusations are not lawful. Discrimination against a specific religious leader and denomination of a faith is indeed unjust and a prejudicial treatment.
“Article 9 of the Human Rights Act expressly states the freedom of thought, conscience and religion.
“Funke Felix Adejumo is a Christian woman who has dedicated her life to serving humanity- she has built orphanages, Children’s hospital and shelter homes for women fleeing domestic violence.”
Also, a hashtag, #IStandWithFunkeAdejumo, has been launched on Instagram in support of the woman of God who has suffered some criticisms of late.
Notable figures like Tara Durotoye, founder, and CEO of Africa’s Leading Makeup Company, House of Tara are some of the people who are showing love for Rev Adejumo by sharing her impact on their lives.
“Thank you for teaching us how to honor our husbands,” she said. “You are builder of the most important pillar of the society -The Family! We are better wives because of you. There was a powerful prayer session for our children that was shared on a mother’s Whatapp group . So powerful; so encouraging and full of hope. Thank you Ma. We honour you. If you have learnt about family life and how to be a Good wife from this matriarch please share with me. #istandwithfunkeadejumo.”
Gospel music singer Dieko said:
“You brought a revolution to womanhood in Africa. There was a season in my life you housed me when many others offered me “scriptures”. When many others would rather save their face than to reach out to me in my pains.. When many others would rather just be neutral and watched me suffer… You stood for me, you nurtured my wounds, you covered me.. You loved me…Not only me Maami… to many!!! I don’t know how much scripture you know.. But I can never forget the love and care you showed me. I’ve followed the principles you teach and it has saved my life in many ways.. I just want you to know I’m a life that is changed because you said yes to God! Keep glowing for our Lord Mummy, keep soaring Mummy, keep radiating His light Mummy. I love you endlessly @ffadejumo . GOD had lifted you and some people cannot just handle it….
