– Response Show Bishop Oyedepo Sacked Pastors Due To Unfruitfulness
The founder and presiding Bishop of the megachurch Faith Tabernacle, Bishop David Oyedepo finally speaks out on the reason behind the laying off of some pastors under the umbrella of the church in Ekiti State.
This came after massive social media backlash, following a pastor named Peter Godwin alleged that he and over 40 other pastors were sacked in Ekiti state for not generating enough income from their branches.
The pastor said while speaking on his dismissal that he “was told by the management that the church doesn’t operate at a loss.
“They also told me that the total income that is being generated from my station should be able to cater for my welfare and accommodation, so as a result of low income, I’m hereby dismissed.”
The news has since gone viral on the social media space after Bishop Oyedepo sacked pastors, with people also calling out the man of God and questioning some of his church policies.

Speaking on the issue during one of his services, Oyedepo said; “I learnt some fellow said we asked them to go because they’re not bringing income. We asked you to go because you’re unfruitful. Unfruitful blatant failure… doing what there?
“We have no patient with failure here.” He continued by saying, “When we employed 7,000 people at a time, social media was dead. We have more employees in this organisation than most of the states. No one is owed a dime salary and we don’t borrow, we don’t beg. Ask our bank whether we take overdraft.
“We are covenant bound, working in the light of God’s word, enjoying an open Heaven”. On if money was an issue to his church, he said, “Money? Nonsense. We have never lacked it and yet we have never prayed for it.
“We are just simply obeying God and He is backing up what He is asking us to do. Awesome God.” He concluded
The letter provided by the accuser also showed that there was no place where it was specified that Bishop Oyedepo sacked pastors because of income, rather the church forgo the income generated by the pastors to cater for their welfare while vacating the church accommodation.
