– Beejay Sax on Gospel music as a higher calling and more
Gospel music artiste, Abolaji Banjoko, aka Beejay Sax has stated that there are various challenges in the gospel music industry but as seen it as a higher calling.
He was asked how the gospel music industry can come out from the current challenges it is facing, he told Saturday Beats on Punch Newspaper:
“In my opinion, keeping our focus on the reason we do what we do is so important. It can get frustrating but we must press towards the mark for the prize of the high calling.”
Speaking ahead of his forthcoming concert, the saxophonist said:
“2022 will be one to remember. This year, we are going all out. All I can really say is, come expectant and be ready to praise like never before.”
“The testimonies from past editions of the event are countless. There has been healing, job breakthroughs, and souls have been won for Christ.”
The Gospel musician reflected back on how he discovered and realized his calling as a Gospel music artiste.
“I was a music student in junior school, and I took particular interest in the saxophone. Over time, I realised it was more than just a talent, but an assignment and a ministry, and I ran with it.”
He also spoke about how he has developed gradually as a music minister.
“With times and seasons, come growth. A lot has been learnt and we are still learning. More importantly, I have been ‘graced’ to walk in my path and fulfil my calling without losing my essence, which is Jesus.”
