Gospel artiste, Don Moen and his wife, Laura Moen are celebrating their 49th wedding anniversary today May 20th.
The award winning international Gospel singer took to his Instagram and Twitter page to share a throwback photo of him and his wife.
Don Moen, studied at Oral Robert University where he met his wife Laura with whom they’ve been married for 47 years now.
The first time Don Moen proposed to Laura, rather than say yes, she began to faint, “and I took that as a “no”,,” said he, in an interview he conducted with a Nigerian Christian Magazine-The Fountain. However, a year later he proposed again and this time she said yes.
Don Moen revealed he got married to Laura at a concert at a downtown theater/church in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
He said, “49 years ago today, I married this girl after a concert at a downtown theater/church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We welcomed anyone in the audience to stay for the wedding if they wished. The wedding started at 10:00O PM and we had about 1,000 people we didn’t know at our wedding! What an adventure! I’m a very blessed man, and God is so good!!! I LOVE YOU, LAURA!!!!! Happy Anniversary!”.
Don Moen also revealed this as he celebrates his anniversary with his wife Laura, “in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Laura said “I do” after a concert! Happy Anniversary Babe! I love you more than ever!”
Don moen also revealed how he and Laura waited for over 12 years to have their first child, before they were eventually blessed with a baby girl.
“We waited for 12 years before we had our first child. Doctors said we couldn’t have children but God gave us 5 at the end, a daughter, then a son, a daughter then a
son and then a daughter. Men had given up on us but at the end, God gave
us five children in 7 years”.
