Award winning gospel artist, Kirk Franklin has apologized on behalf of his generation to the upcoming generation at a concert in Florida, for the lack of love shown towards them by the church.

Kirk Franklin and Maverick City,  jump started a tour known as “The Kingdom Tour” earlier this month.

The Kingdom Tour had a sold out ticket of over 50,000 audience, who filled the whole stadium in the city of Miami, Orlando, Tampa and Atlanta to experience the live worship in different days.

The show which was held at Orlando brought people from all corners of a packed house at Amway Center. Those who were in attendance, where largely from the millennials and Gen Z age range.

Kirk Franklin, during the concert took out a moment to address the people who were about 20,000 in attendance.

There’s so much division in the world right now,” Franklin said from behind the piano. “Sometimes I feel like my generation let your generation down.”

While addressing the people, he said that people in the Church from the baby boomer generation “were talking about church and talking about Jesus, but we forgot to love on people.”

Right now, I believe that there’s a generation in this room that’s sick and tired of people that play church; they’re ready to be the Church,” he said as the congregation encouraged him.

The gospel artiste who has longed for unity among churches across racial lines said, “The Church has no color. The Church has no division. The Church has only one superstar and His name is Jesus the Christ.

I believe there is a generation where mothers and fathers might have forgotten, but God would never,” he continued. “I really think your generation can help me change the atmosphere of the world.

While he was addressing the audience, he beckoned on them to set the atmosphere. He rounded off with prayers of unity, while Maverick City sang “Awesome God”

Kirk Franklin and Maverick City are cooking up an upcoming album titled “Kingdom Book 1” which they also performed all through the night.
