Pope Francis Condemns Attack On Catholic Church At Ondo State, Nigeria

-Pope Francis Speaks As He Condemns Church Attack In Ondo State

The head of catholic churches Pope Francis condemns killing on church attack, at Ondo State, during Sunday morning service.

It was reported that unknown gunmen attacked the catholic church on Sunday, June 5,2022, during a church service, throwing explosives and shooting at the church as many were found dead.

According to various videos shared on social media, it reported over 50 members of the church were found dead and injured by the shooting or explosives. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) reported it has admitted over 11 children and 22 adults who were victims of the attack on the church in Ondo.

According to director of the Vatican press office, a statement was released regarding the attack, he stated the congregants were ‘‘painfully affected”.

The statement goes thus:

“The Pope has learned of the attack on the church in Ondo, Nigeria, and the deaths of dozens of worshippers, many of them children, during the celebration of Pentecost.

“While the details are being clarified, Pope Francis prays for the victims and the country, painfully affected at a time of celebration, and entrusts them both to the lord so that he may send his spirit to console them.”
