– Boma Shona Beddie-Memberr – A Worship Drummer

Boma Beddie-Memberr, known professionally as Shona, is redefining what it means to balance career and calling. A multi-talented musician, Shona is a worship drummer, rapper, and songwriter whose artistry goes beyond music.

By day, Shona thrives as a project manager, but outside office hours, she transforms into a powerhouse drummer, delivering captivating rhythms that inspire worship. Shona’s unique ability to balance her professional career with her passion for music is a testament to her dedication and drive, proving that passion and purpose can coexist beautifully.

Her journey started in her childhood, where her fascination with music—particularly drums—took root during church fellowships in the late ’90s. While other kids played, Shona was captivated by the rhythm and energy of the drummer, sensing an inner calling to play. Over the years, she has honed her craft through worship gatherings like RIG Lagos, RCCG Joshua Ville, and Storehouse, using her gift to lead others into deeper encounters with God.

A recent graduate of the Worship Artistry Diploma at Bethel Music College, Redding, California, Shona brings a heart of worship to every beat. Her drumming transcends performance; it’s an act of faith that connects audiences to the divine. She has drawn inspiration from legendary drummers like Tony Royster Jr., Calvin Rodgers, and Carlin Muccular, and finds community in platforms like DrumQueen and Africa’s Drummers Network.

Shona’s story is one of perseverance, passion, and breaking barriers. As a woman in a traditionally male-dominated field, she continues to inspire the next generation of female musicians to boldly pursue their calling.

From Nigeria to the global stage, Shona’s rhythm is a sound of Heaven, proving that faith and talent can move mountains—and audiences.
