Deacon Efosa | Super Power

Gospel music lovers and Afro-fusion enthusiasts are in for a treat as Efosa Odaro, popularly known as Deacon Efosa, has released his highly anticipated debut single, “Super Power” (also known as “Power Pass Power”).

This dynamic Afro-fusion gospel track, infused with Amapiano elements, is set to redefine the sound of contemporary gospel music and introduce a fresh voice to the scene.

Deacon Efosa is not your typical gospel artist. His music bridges the gap between vibrant African sounds and spiritual inspiration, delivering a message of hope and empowerment while maintaining a unique, genre-blending style.

Efosa’s musical journey began in 2002 when he recorded his first song as an amateur in Badagry. Influenced by reggae and calypso music from a young age, his earliest inspiration came from his uncle, who had a talent for rewriting lyrics to existing songs.

Efosa followed in his uncle’s footsteps while at Federal Government College, reimagining popular songs with new lyrics and performing at school events. He was heavily influenced by artists like Tupac and initially focused on secular music.

His passion for songwriting eventually led to his first recorded track, sponsored by his aunt, marking the official start of his music career. While studying at the University of Port Harcourt, Efosa and his friend J Money formed a group called Big Boys, releasing an album titled That Kind Thing.

However, the project failed to gain traction due to technical challenges with its production, leading Efosa to step away from music in 2013.

During his hiatus from music, Efosa remained devoted to his faith and was ordained as a deacon in Christ Embassy, a ministry he has been part of since his teenage years. Between 2013 and 2022, he focused on serving God, but in 2024, everything changed. Efosa received a divine message calling him back to music—not for fame, but to glorify God and spread the gospel through his songs.
