-Siminalayi Fubara Donates N50M To Church – Honors Aide’s Mother
Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has extolled the sterling qualities of Madam Ayebadieye Edward Dorcas Igbeta, at a funeral service in her honour in Nembe, stressing that she led an exemplary life.
The Rivers State Governor donated N50million to the Cathedral Church of St Luke, Anglican Communion in Nembe City, Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, in memory of the mother of his aide, late Mama Ayebadieye Edward Igbeta.

On Thursday, February 6, 2025, while speaking at the requiem service held at the Cathedral Church of St. Luke, Nembe, Bayelsa State, Gov. Fubara donated N50 million to support the completion of the Cathedral Church in honour of Madam Ayebadieye Igbeta, who was an ardent worshipper at the Cathedral before her passing at the age of 79.

The Rivers State governor said: “We are here as a government to show that in this difficult time, we stand with him. We know that there is no consolation here that can fill the gap of this loss, more especially the loss of a mother.
“But, we want to draw his mind to the good Book: that it is the Lord that giveth, and it is also the Lord that taketh.”
Moved to announce the goodwill, Fubara noted, “I have been made to understand that the Cathedral will need strong support. We are going to support the completion of the Cathedral in memory of Mama with the sum of N50 million.”
