Translating to “Christ, the King” in the Ibibio dialect of Akwa Ibom State, Christ Obong is a contemporary reimagining of a cherished traditional gospel song.

Inspired by memories of his childhood, el Mafrex recalls singing the original version alongside his grandmother — a moment filled with joy, movement, and spiritual connection.
