In a historic and widely welcomed appointment, the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) has named Advocate Botrus Mansour, an Arab-Israeli of Palestinian descent, as its new Secretary General and Chief Executive Officer.
Mansour’s selection marks the first time an Arab Christian will lead the global evangelical body, which represents more than 600 million believers across over 148 countries.

Upon his appointment, Mansour expressed deep humility and a profound sense of responsibility.
He emphasized his commitment to rallying the global evangelical community behind the WEA’s ambitious theme, “The Gospel for Everyone by 2033.”
“With God’s grace,” he declared, “I will work relentlessly with others to remove any obstacles that may seek to hinder our unity… the Gospel of peace, justice and righteousness is the true solution for our aching world.”
