– Charlie Kirk Dies At 31 After Being Shot At Event
Conservative political activist Charlie Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA, dies at 31 after he was shot and killed on Wednesday during a speaking event at Utah Valley University, authorities and leading news outlets report.
The attack occurred in Orem, Utah, during the first stop of Kirk’s “American Comeback Tour,” as he was addressing a “Prove Me Wrong” table debate.
Moments earlier, he had been taking questions from the crowd about gun violence.

Eyewitness footage shows the moment a single gunshot rang out, hitting Kirk in the neck; he collapsed while speaking, with blood visible, sending attendees into panic. 
Governor Spencer Cox of Utah described the killing as a political assassination. Authorities have not yet confirmed a motive. Two people were briefly detained but then released, as they were not connected to the shooting. 
In response to Kirk’s death, there has been bipartisan condemnation. President Donald Trump described Kirk as “great, and even legendary,” saying no one understood the youth of America better. Flags have been ordered at half-staff in his honor. 
Kirk is survived by his wife, Erika, and their two children.
