Christian comedian John Crist and Nashville news anchor Lydia Fielder are officially engaged. He shared glimpses of their joyful moment on his social media page.
Crist, known for his clean, observational humor rooted in Christian culture, excitedly revealed the news via an Instagram post.
“The best thing that’s ever happened to me in my entire life by far,” he wrote alongside photos of the proposal. “I love you so much Lydia Fielder.”  
Fielder, a co-anchor for WSMV-TV in Nashville, also shared the announcement on her own social media, writing;

“God wrote it from the start, my first love is now my forever love. I do, John B. Crist.”
On Crist’s post, she commented affectionately; “God’s redemptive plan, JB. I LOVE YOU!”  
The couple’s engagement has struck a chord with fans and peers alike. Celebrities and other familiar faces, flooded the post with heartfelt congratulations. 
Crist, 41, grew up in Atlanta as one of eight children in a pastor’s household and began his comedy career in 2009, performing at churches, clubs, and open-mic nights.  
However, his journey hasn’t always been easy. In 2019, allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced, prompting Netflix to cancel his upcoming special and Crist to cancel the rest of his tour dates.
John Crist Is Engaged
He entered rehab for four months to address issues of sexual sin and addiction. During this period, Crist admitted he contemplated suicide and wrestled with deep shame, but ultimately found solace in faith.
John Crist and Lydia Fielder’s engagement is more than a personal milestone, it symbolizes a new chapter filled with faith, hope, and love.
