Prominent Nigerian preacher, Dr. Abel Damina, has addressed ongoing debates within the Christian community regarding tattoos and body enhancements, stating that such decisions are a matter of personal choice rather than a sin.
Speaking during a recent church service, Dr. Damina emphasized that the Bible should not be misinterpreted to condemn believers who choose to get tattoos, piercings, or undergo cosmetic procedures.
“The New Testament does not make tattoos or body enhancements a sin issue. What you do with your body is a personal choice. What matters is the state of your heart and your walk with God,” he explained

His comments come amid growing discussions in many churches about whether modern lifestyle practices, such as cosmetic surgery, hair extensions, or tattoos, align with Christian values.
Dr. Damina urged believers to focus on love, spiritual growth, and the gospel of Christ, rather than judging others based on outward appearances.
He noted that unnecessary criticism of personal lifestyle choices often distracts the church from its core mission.
The message has sparked conversation online, with many praising his balanced approach, while others argue that tattoos and body modifications remain incompatible with Christian teachings.
