In a landmark event for Nigeria’s religious architecture and evangelical community, Salvation Ministries has officially dedicated its new headquarters, the Hand of God Cathedral, a 120,000-seat auditorium located at Km 10 East-West Road, Igwuruta, along the Airport Road corridor in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The cathedral, also referred to in some reports as the “Five Fingers of God” cathedraL features a striking architectural design a central dome with five finger-shaped wings extending from the palm structure.
Originally planned at a 40,000-seat capacity when construction began in 2010, the project was later scaled up to accommodate 120,000 worshippers, making it one of the largest single-auditorium church buildings in the world.

The dedication service was led by the church’s founder and General Overseer, David Ibiyeomie, who thanked God for the project, describing it as a testimony of what God can do when we believe Him.
The service reportedly caused slow-moving traffic along the airport road due to the surge of worshippers arriving for the event.
The Hand of God Cathedral will serve as the new global headquarters for Salvation Ministries, which was founded in 1997 and is based in Port Harcourt.
