-Donnie McClurkin Denies Rape & Sexual Assault Claims
Grammy-winning gospel singer, pastor, and recording artist Donnie McClurkin has publicly denied recent allegations of sexual misconduct and rape, urging followers to pray not only for himself but also for his accuser.
The controversy stems from a civil lawsuit filed January 2, 2026, in New York County Supreme Court by Giuseppe Corletto, a former assistant and church member.
Corletto’s complaint alleges that McClurkin sexually assaulted and coerced him over several years starting in the early 2000s while the two were involved in ministry work.

The lawsuit includes detailed claims that the abuse occurred during what were described as pray the gay away spiritual sessions.
In response, McClurkin released a public statement on social media and in video messages firmly rejecting the allegations as contrived and untrue.
He described the claims as false and defamatory and insisted he has never engaged in sexual abuse, assault, or coercion.

Acknowledging the seriousness of sexual violence, McClurkin stressed that genuine victims deserve justice and support, but he emphasized that the accusations against him do not reflect the truth of his life or ministry.
He also asked the public not to rush to judgment and to allow the legal process to play out fairly. In his statement, McClurkin went further, urging his more than two million followers to pray for both himself and his accuser, saying prayer is essential as the matter unfolds.
