Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, made a heart-warming return to his roots in Benin City, Edo State, on Sunday, drawing attention from fans and residents alike.
The “Calm Down” hitmaker kicked off his surprise visit by stopping in his old neighbourhood, where locals gathered enthusiastically.
Videos shared online showed the singer reconnecting with familiar faces and soaking in the warm welcome from his community. In addition to visiting his childhood streets, Rema attended a Sunday church service alongside his mother, a moment that captured the affection and support of worshippers in attendance.

In footage circulating on social media, the singer is seen engaging with his mum and conversing with the church pastor after the service.
