– Donald Trump To Rededicate America Unto God By May 17th, 2026
U.S. President Donald Trump has unveiled plans for a large prayer event on May 17, 2026, aiming to “rededicate America as one nation under God” as part of the country’s 250th anniversary celebrations.
Trump made the announcement during the annual National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., where members of Congress, religious leaders and international guests gathered for the annual faith-focused event.
“We’re inviting Americans from all across the country to come together on our National Mall to pray, to give thanks, and… we’re going to rededicate America as one nation under God,” Trump said in remarks that drew applause from the audience.

The president framed the May event as a national spiritual renewal, tying faith and patriotism to the nation’s history and future.
The date, Trump noted, coincides with historical expressions of religious observance before the Declaration of Independence, when colonial leaders declared a day of fasting and prayer in 1776.
