Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has explained why he believes in Jesus Christ rather than traditional deities, offering a striking response when questioned about his Christian faith and his strong connection to Igbo culture.
Edochie made the remarks during an appearance on content creator IsbaeU’s podcast, Curiosity Made Me Ask, where he was asked why he believes in Jesus instead of traditional gods such as Amadioha.
During the conversation, the actor was asked about his belief in Amadioha and other traditional deities.

Edochie responded by comparing what he described as the abilities attributed to Jesus with those attributed to the traditional deity.
“So, why should I believe one that can’t walk on water and leave one that can walk on water?” he said.
His response referenced the biblical account of Jesus Christ walking on water, a miracle recorded in the New Testament.
