Arthur Blessitt, a renowned evangelist, known for carrying a 12-foot wooden cross around the world to share the gospel, setting a world record along the way died at 84 on the 14th of January, 2025.

Blessitt, who began his journey on December 25, 1969, carried a 12-foot wooden cross across all seven continents, including Antarctica, as part of his mission to spread the Gospel.

After he passed, his family posted a video from him and an obituary written by Blessitt himself before he died.

“I, Arthur Blessitt, have completed my walk and mission on earth,” he wrote. 

The obituary also urged Christians to share the gospel. He requested that no funeral or memorial service be held. 

His ministry was essentially witnessing for Jesus Christ through personal conversation. He began walking from Hollywood to Washington D.C. The journey carried on and eventually he carried his cross 43,346 miles across 324 countries.

It was announced that Blessitt passed away on Tuesday. He is survived by his wife Denise, seven children, 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
