German pastor who is sojourning in Nigeria on ministerial assignment has appealed to German nationals to emulate Nigerians by taking their faith seriously.
Pastor Raily Edwards-Raudonant of the Christ’s Church, Beach Land Estate, Apapa, Lagos, made the appeal during a courtesy visit to an elder of the church, Chief Tunde Omikunle, at Obanikoro, Lagos state, on Tuesday, according to Punch.
The cleric lamented over the decline of the church in Europe, and disclosed that his mission in Nigeria is to reach German speakers with the gospel of Jesus Christ. He arrived Nigeria in January 2018,
“My primary mission is to the German nationals or German speakers in Nigeria,” he said. “They could be Germans, Austrians or Swiss. This is a special challenge because the church in Europe is declining.
“So, I want to reach the Germans here, where people take religion seriously. Perhaps they can learn from the Nigerians and also take religion, their own faith seriously.
“I am reaching out to the Germans in this country, to win them for Christ.”
The cleric also urged Nigerians to live peacefully with one another; pointing out that religious differences should not create conflict.
He further spoke on the herdsmen crisis in the country; urging the federal government to employ experienced hands to end the crisis.
“The government needs to tap into the resources here by using people who are experienced in mediation and negotiation,” he posited.
