Sam Adeyemi Reacts To Lawsuit Against Him Over EndSARS Protest

Pastor Sam Adeyemi, the senior pastor at Daystar Christian Centre, has reacted to a lawsuit filed against him and 49 others over his involvement in the EndSARS protest.

On Tuesday, November 10, through the Twitter handle @HumanRightsNG, a Nigerian man identified as Kenechukwu Okeke, filed a criminal complaint against some Nigerians who protested during the EndSARS protest.

Okeke alleged that his properties were destroyed during the riots that preceded the protest “instigated and incited” by 50 “defendants” and called for the perpetrators of the protest to be brought to justice.

The case was registered on Monday, November 9, under sections 88, 109 (a) and 110 (1) (c) of the Criminal Justice Act, 2015.

Pastor Sam, who was also named as a defendant in the case, reached out to his Twitter handle to react to the development.

“Who sent this guy to file this frivolous law suit?” Pastor Sam Adeyemi asked.

Aside Pastor Sam Adeyemi, other celebrated personalities who were involved in the peaceful protest hijacked by hoodlums and security agents, have also reacted to the lawsuit.

Nigerian singer 2Face Idibia whose name was among the list also reacted in a statement by his management saying:

There’s no comment yet. We have not been served any paper. We have not received any formal summon. We can’t respond to what is merely trending on social media until we receive a summon we can’t respond.

Nollywood actor Uche Jumbo Rodriguez also reacted in a more rather harsh tone saying:

“How can one send a judicial slap to an olodo on Twitter? Asking for a friend.”

Aisha Yesufu, the activist who was at the fore of the protest also made a mockery of the lawsuit in her tweet.

Hello #EndSarsList team mates. What colour of aso ebi are we sewing for our court appearance?”

Also included on the list is Nigerian rapper Falz, Politician, pastor and musician Banky W, Tacha, Davido, Yul Edochie and many more.

Following the EndSARS protest lawsuit, Okeke has come under serious criticism on social media. Also the Conference of Igbo Youth Professionals Worldwide has dissociated itself from his action against Pastor Sam Adeyemi and the 49 others.
