AFRIMA 2021: Ada Ehi, Icha Kavons & Diana Hamilton Gets Nod

Nigerian Gospel sensational Ada Ehi popularly referred to as Ada Mama has earned a space in the recently released nomination list for the prestigious All African Music Awards, AFRIMA 2021. The singer was listed in the category which includes renowned Ghanian artiste and recently crowned VGMA Artiste of the year Diana Hamilton.

The African Union Commission (AUC) and The International Committee of All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) released the nomination list for AFRIMA 2021 awards on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 with the list having over 400 songs from different artistes in the 30 continental and 10 regional categories cutting across African talents and creatives living on the continent and in the Diaspora.

Ada Ehi was listed as the only Nigerian gospel artiste on the list. She was nominated alongside Ghana’s Diana Hamilton in the Best Female Artiste in Africa Inspirational Song. While the Free Nation Inc. artiste will be hoping to win her first AFRIMA Award, Diana Hamilton will be hoping to add to her amazing streak of laurels this year having received several awards and nominations already.

Diana won the 2021 Most Streamed Female Act of the Year Award at the 3Music Women’s Brunch and was also named In March 2021 among the Top 30 Most Influential Women in Music by the 3Music Awards Women’s Brunch. In June, she was named the VGMA Artiste of the Year winning a tightly contested category which had Ghanaian top acts such as Sarkodie, KiDi, Medikal, Kuami Eugene and Adina Thembe. She also got a nod for three more awards at the night, making her the first female artiste to achieve such. The UK based Ghanaian artiste is perhaps one of the strongest who would be considered to win this category.

DR Congo’s sensational artiste, Icha Kavons is also another gospel artiste to make the AFRIMA 2021 list as he was listed in the Best Male Artiste in African Inspirational Music.
