Personally I have dealt with series of dreams and I allowed it control my life and thoughts for a long time. I was glad when the interpretation was good and sad when the interpretation was bad… But do you know that all the interpretation we have given to dreams are based on human knowledge?
Bible says “dreams come from many cares” (Ecl 5:3). No where in the Holy Ghost era did God speak to His apostles through dreams, it was either vision, through the word or outright divine manifestation. and this is apt with the word of God in the book of Acts 2:17:
“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.” Act 2:17
So except you are old by reason of lack of spiritual knowledge, except you do not have your youth renewed, then dreams can play an integral part of your spirituality. Therefore, due to these premises, it is save to say dream is rather, not too effectual medium of communication as far as the Gospel is concerned.
This is not to say dreams are not meaningful, as a matter of fact, it is a vital tool in the hand of the enemy but when you put it through the test of the word of God for its authenticity, you discover that you are working with a more sophisticated weapon of warfare and dreams are subject to this weapon.
It is when God cannot reach out to a child through other means due to the level of that child of God’s knowledge, that dream becomes effectual for such an individual at such stage of maturity.
So, if you have a good dream, please back if up by God’s word and thank God for the forthcoming manifestation.
But if you have an ominous dream, here’s what you should do.
The first thing is to know your position where such dream is concerned. Your identity makes you confidence. For example if you have a drivers license and Nigerian Police stops you on the way, you will not be too frightened because you know you are not breaking any law. In the same way, if you know who you are in Christ, you will not be too shaken by a low spiritual medium of communication, knowing fully well that you have some more advance means that can nullify such means.
Rev 1:6 says God has made you a King and a Priest unto Himself. This therefore does perfect justice to Lev 27:11- 12.
It says if anyone presents an unclean animal for offering – see your ominous dream as the enemy trying to present you with an unclean animal – the priest will set a value for it whether it is good or bad, and as you the priest set the value, so shall it be.
“If it is an unclean animal which they do not offer as a sacrifice to the Lord , then he shall present the animal before the priest; and the priest shall set a value for it, whether it is good or bad; as you, the priest, value it, so it shall be.” – Leviticus 27:11-12 NKJV
So put your dreams under the test of this word and by yourself determine what you want to see happen in your life, not some ominous dream.
So get up from the dream and use your authority in the name of Jesus to set a good value for your dream. Don’t cower in fear… Rise up in faith!
