“who, existing in the form of God, didn’t consider equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men.”
-Philippians 2:6
Let me tell you a fiction. Its a story about Jesus and though it may not be exact, it could have happened one way or the other during Jesus, our Lord’s childhood.
Joseph, Jesus’ father just got a job to make a chair and a table. Joseph wanted the chair done immediately but Jesus was waiting on the delicacy Mary, His mother just prepared for it to be served. Joseph, seeing the boy might not come out to help him calmly scolded Him saying
“The food is yours Jesus, come out now and help with the chair and table I’m about to make.”
Jesus being a very diligent boy full of grace, favor and wisdom immediately rose up to His feet to join His father make the chair and table.
That was “the” God Himself, taking orders from men just so that 2000 years down the line, you and I, that are not even from Israel can receive eternal life and be safe through His death on the cross.
He sure knew who He was but He also knows every humility we exercise is for a greater purpose.
Don’t let your ego get in the way of God’s purpose for you or others, let the same mindset that is in Christ Jesus, be in you. God bless you.
