“It will be health to your body, and nourishment to your bones.”
– Proverbs 3:8
Let us spend one more day discussing about Narcissism but let’s approach it from this angle today.
Some people get obsessively preoccupied with themselves but not in an egoistic way. They hate the way they look or they just hate themselves.
People who are faced with this problem run the risk of falling into the temptation of selfishness, envy, jealousy, strife and even worst, terrorism.
Preoccupation with our image is counter to God’s will for our lives. If you find yourself in this struggle, take this first vital step: Run to God! Ask him to help you see yourself as he does; as His treasure, His precious child. He loves you unconditionally. He loves you so much that He gave his son, Jesus, to provide a way for you to be forgiven and live with Him in heaven forever.
God loves you just the way you are. No matter what you have or haven’t done, no matter what you look like, or how much you weigh. He wants you to know how special you are to Him. He has a good plan for your life.
You should also seek the help of an elder. An elder in this context refers to the leader in God’s household. Someone who can help you see yourself in the light of God’s word by opening your eyes till you experience the rapturous love of God.
Also, spend time with God’s word by yourself. Make it your obsession because you know what they say about habit – to quit one, you need to replace it with another. Moreover, it is your obsession with God’s word that can help you renew your mind till your knowledge of Him helps you see yourself as He sees you.
