“Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up.”
– Galatians 6:9
I was in a forum yesterday where we discussed about the workers in the vineyard of God, i.e, the church.
We talked about how important it is to work for God as the work you do is like planting seed and waiting for the harvest.
We said while God will reward our works in the vineyard, that it is important to work wholeheartedly and not because of the reward because if one is focus on the reward and one does not get a “quick answer,” you can get discourage in the stern moment.
While we were discussing, someone raised a question that how does one who fell off in his assignment get back to God. I will discuss the 3 point answer I gave below.
It is important to know – for those who have fell off from their assignment – that God is not out to get us. Therefore, if you are still shut away from him because of guilt, forgiveness is key. You need to forgive yourself and also ask God to forgive you so that you can approach him boldly.
Haven received forgiveness from God, you need to continually pray for grace in your assignment as you get back on the field. See, success is not a destination, it is a journey, when you succeed in one thing, it brings higher responsibility and failing in the responsibility can mar 10 years of success, so you need grace essentially. Also, you need to recognise that your work for God is not by power, there will be discouraging days but grace will see you through.
The 3rd point is this, you have to get back on the field and impress yourself and God. What does it mean to impress yourself and God? Be better at the assignment today than you were yesterday. Break your own record, god’s will is for us to be excellent and if we excel in the work God has committed into our hands, it breeds success in the other aspects as well.
