So when he heard that he was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was” – John 11:5
If the verse that precedes our focus for today did not say that Jesus loved Martha, Mary and Lazarus, we would have concluded that Jesus did not care much for them that was why He delayed but thank God for the emphasis.
So why did Jesus delay?
Verse 4 of John 11 recorded that the sickness wasn’t for death but that the son of God may be glorified through it.
You may also want to say, what has the glorification got to do with anything?
Checkout Verse 15; Jesus told his disciples “I am glad for your sake that I was not there that you may believe.
Jesus repeated the same thing in verse 42; that the people standing “may believe.”
So it wasn’t a selfish ambition that made Jesus delayed Lazarus healing but that through it many may be led to salvation. When all hope seems lost and the facts on ground are vivid, Jesus is saying that is when He wants to show up so that your story will shock men and through it bring many to him.
There are some things that happen to us that we question God for, most of them, we will not know the answer but the bible says ALL things work for the good of them that love God. God is working for you a great testimony… Hallelujah!
Want to still keep believing this..that the silence of God is indeed for His glorification..let ur wil be done Lord
