A husband, wife and a child in Knoxville Tennessee have blessed a waitress with a whooping sum of $1,075 as tip (N182,750 equivalent) after she served them at a local restaurant and they said God led them to the waitress.
Khadijah Muhammad has seemingly dedicated her life to helping and serving others. From waitressing at Cheddars restaurant, making homemade pies, muffins, soup, and delivering it to the homeless on her own, Muhammad receives satisfaction just from knowing she’s helped others.
Muhammad said nothing really stood out about the family on the evening they came for dinner. She said they spoke cordially and their billed totaled $29.30. When Muhammad went to pick up their bill, after the family left, she noticed that it was turned over. She said that’s usually a sign that no tip wasn’t left.
“I just remember seeing a comma after the one and knew it wasn’t $10.” Mohammad said. “And I was like, ‘Oh, my God!’ And I just lost my balance and I was like, ‘Does this say a thousand dollars?’ I could not believe it.”
The family also left a simple note on the tip.
“It says, ‘Jesus Blessed us and we were led to give it to you. God Bless!’ What I’m thinking now is I believe it.”
The last month hasn’t been easy for Muhammad. Already behind on bills, Muhammad had to take off from work to drive to Ohio to visit her mother who had a heart-attack. Thankfully her mother recuperated from the heart-attack, but on getting back, haven driven through heavy snow, another setback hit Muhammad. Her utilities were going to be shut off.
“It said, ‘This is your second and final notice of past due bill to prevent service disconnection.’ I was thinking I’m really going to need a miracle to pay my bills this month.”
That miracle came in the form of a generous family.
Muhammad has no idea who the tippers are, but she has a few words for them.
“I just want to thank them. Thank them so much, because I’m humbled. I’m grateful. I do believe that God led you to me at this time in my life,” said a tearful Muhammad.
Muhammad also hopes one day she’s able to do the same for someone else.
