In order to get the full essence of today’s post, please read Judges 7.
Last night, during my Bible study time with our sons Kedar and Kaleb, together, we brought the story of Gideon to life.
I had them help me reenact certain portions of the biblical account to make sure their young, active minds really grasped what it took for Gideon, who felt like the least of all his family members, to trust God to give him a mighty victory.
The word of God shows us how, through every step of Gideon’s journey, even when he began to doubt, the Lord would give him a sign that everything was going to work in Israel’s favor.
Although Gideon started out with 32,000 soldiers, God stripped him down to a small army of 300. It looked like the Lord was setting the poor guy up for failure, but that wasn’t the case.
I’m sure Gideon was thinking, “God, why would you strip me down like this before sending me out to fight a battle?”
Have you ever felt like that?
Perhaps, you’re going through a season when you are down to almost nothing and it looks like defeat is imminent. Well, the Lord sent me today to let you know, victory is on the way.
He’s taking you this route so that, when your day of deliverance comes, you will have no misunderstanding of where the glory belongs.
So today, I’m stirring the words God said to Gideon in Judges 7:2 NIV into your cup of inspiration:
The Lord said to Gideon, ‘You have too many men. I cannot deliver Midian into their hands, or Israel would boast against me, ‘My own strength has saved me.’”
When you drink down the contents of your cup, you will realize that the Lord is not setting you up for failure. Instead, He’s getting you ready for a miraculous season of blessing.
He’s just making sure that after what’s about to happen comes into fruition, you will know it could have been nobody but Him.
Earlier on Facebook, I shared what the Lord spoke to me and I believe it needs to be repeated here.
In this season, God is proving He’s able to do more with less. Naturally, you feel stripped, but supernaturally you’ve been equipped. Wait and see what God does!
As the saying goes, when you’re down to nothing, God is up to something.
I feel led to let you know, God’s about to get glory out of your story. Get ready!
Now let’s pray.
God, thank You for letting me know that despite what it looks like, every need is met, every way is made, and every door is already open. Please increase my capacity to believe You for what You already promised me, because I know You cannot lie. If You said it, it’s already done. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
