And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” – Philippians 4:19
Another key of the kingdom I will like to also make mention of his giving.
A lot of people like to religiously lay claim on Philippians 4:19 forgetting that Paul was actually responding to an act of kindness which he had received from the Philippians’ church when he made that declaration. It is not too common in the bible to see a portion that talks about the blessing of provision without it being attached to giving. That tells you that no matter the key you are engaging for provision, your harvest is determined by the abundance of your giving.
You may not even have a lot or anything to give at times but what is the attitude with which you approach the Lord’s presence. The widow in the temple who gave the little she had caught Jesus’ attention than the rich who gave out of much supply because of her attitude.
The bible says give cheerfully, abundantly and not of compulsion but as you have purpose in your heart for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:6-7).
Abraham named the place where God provided him with a ram for sacrifice instead of his son “God my provider” after he willingly gave the son to God knowing that he who gave the son was able to also bring him back.
Its a basic kingdom principle and the examples are inexhaustive. Applying the key without playing your role when it comes to giving and tithing is like pouring water into a basket and expecting it to be full. As a matter of fact, it is dangerous (See Genesis 4:1-7, Malachi 3:8-12)
In Philippians 4:19, Paul was responding to the act of kindness the church showed when he decreed that God will meet the needs of the Philippians. Most Christians lay claim on the prayer forgetting you can only do that haven fulfill the first part which is giving.
