marvin-sappPastor and Gospel singer Marvin Sapp has finalized the deal to purchase a historic 160 year-old church in Muskegon, Michigan, according to the Catholic Diocese of Grand Rapids.

Marvin Sapp had made his intention known through his twitter on New Year’s day when he tweeted:

“BigAnnouncement LighthouseFLC is come to Muskegon MI at 3pm in 2017. No better place to be than at Lighthouse GR.”

The church was the former St. Jean Baptiste Catholic Church. Sapp, who is the senior pastor at Lighthouse Full Life Center Church, has not commented on when service will begin in the new church.

According to spokesperson for the Diocese of Grand Rapids Annalise Laumeyer, St. Jean Baptiste has not undergone renovations since its closure in April 2015, FoxNews reported. It will require “extensive repairs” before it could be reopened according to studies conducted by Rockford Construction and GMB Architecture and Engineering.
