In March 2017, friends and family gathered at Rhema Bible Church to host, perform and be part of a free Benefit concert in honour of Lionel Petersen who had been in hospital for 7 months at the period.

More recently, a GoFundMe account was created to raise money to help foot the legend’s hospital bills by Gospel and Inspirational music producer Wilson Joel.

Lionel who had been out of the hospital as at March was hospitalized again and according to reports, this has gone on for about 18 months now.

Reports also have it that the “Peace” singer has had a double amputation due to diabetes and the cost of medical bills keep shooting up, too much for the family to bear alone.
