Author and lawyer, Reno Omokri led a peaceful protest to Nigerian Embassy In UK yesterday February 19th as it clocked exactly one year since the abduction of Leah Sharibu from her school alongside 109 of her classmates in Dapchi, Yobe state by Boko Haram members.
Even though most of the girls has since been released, Sharibu was not granted freedom after refusing to renounce her Christian faith for Islam. She has been in the custody of the terror group despite repeated pledges by the Federal government to ensure her release.
In recognition of her one year in abduction, outspoken Christian and activist, Reno Omokri led a group of men and women to stage a protest in front of the Nigerian High Commission in London.
During the rally, he called for on the Federal government to expedite action towards the safe return of Leah and all others still in Boko Haram captivity.
