– Chris Oyakhilome donates & commissions Engineering Faculty Complex at Benson Idahosa University

President of the Believers Loveworld Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome was at the commissioning of Benson Idahosa University’s Legacy Campus and Dr. Chris Oyakhilome Faculty of Engineering Complex, yesterday the 10th of March, 2020.

Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome had promised in 2016 to make available the sum of N1billion towards the construction of the Engineering building. According to him, the donation was not only towards contributing to the actualization of the dream of late Benson Idahosa, but also an opportunity for him to contribution to his life.

The grand occasion was graced by high profile dignitaries from across Nigeria, including ministers of the Gospel, top government functionaries, the Oba of Benin Kingdom (Oba Ewuare 2), other royal fathers from across the Niger-Delta Region of Nigeria and distinguished guests. The Chancellor of the University, Archbishop Margaret Benson Idahosa, the President, Bishop Feb Idahosa, and the entire Benson Idahosa University family.

In her welcome remark, Archbishop Margaret Benson Idahosa lauded the kind-heartedness of the LoveWorld President. She praised the undaunted commitment to quality education and human capital development demonstrated by Pastor Chris. She spoke fondly of Pastor Chris’ teenage years, how he worked at the Church of God Mission International and would spend time looking at Archbishop Benson Idahosa’s crusade pictures that formed a mural in the halls of the ministry.

Commending the late archbishop’s family for keeping up with his legacy, Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome acknowledged that the person he had become today was shaped by Idahosa “so, I didn’t think I was doing something other than expressing my appreciation. I took the opportunity afforded me to say thank you.”

He said “Arch Bishop Benson Idahosa had always told us to support the poor and the government. He said this knowing that the government is not poor. He taught us how to give. We are the legacy of his ministry, life, work and message; we are taking this message everywhere.”

Pastor Chris further called on patriots and Christians to contribute meaningfully to the projects of the Benson Idahosa University and to make it the best. “This is a venture with eternal value,” he said.
