-Edo State Governorship Election – Azehme Azena Win NNPP Ticket
Jubilation everywhere as Apostle Johnson Suleman’s subordinate pastor, Azehme Azena, emerged the winner of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Governorship ticket for Edo State gubernatorial Election, 2024.
The pastor was declared the winner at the party’s primary election held at Ugbor, GRA, Benin City, Edo state.
Azena, who was a former governorship aspirants while in Labour Party, scored 211 Votes to emerge as the Flagbearer of the NNPP Party.
The Chairman of the Electoral Committee of the party, Senator Suleiman Abdulrahman, while announcing the result said;
“Out of 351 votes, Azehme polled 211 votes, while Peter Okigwaele scored 100 votes, Rev Sabastine Iyare scored 25 votes Balogun Alime scored 17 votes with two invalid votes and one void vote.”
The Chairman as also called for unity among the members of the party and for them to support the flagbearer of the Party to enable NNPP to win the September 21st election.

Celebrating his win, Pastor Azehme Azena appreciated his party’s believe in him and the opportunity contest and win the primary election in the State.
He also noted that there is no winner, that all who contested are all winners and he would reconcile with each of them for the success and growth of the party.
“I want to unite the party, I want to bring in other aspirants, no loser, no winner to me because we have lions and tigers to compete with, I want to see how unity can be restored.
“The reason is that during the process some people may have felt aggrieved, so my first assignment is to see how unity can be brought back to the party, then we can now see how we are to confront the opponent for the guber elections.”
