– “Ebubedike” By Ifeoma Chukwu is now available for download online
Gospel singer Ifeoma Chukwu unveils her deeply moving new single, “Ebubedike,” a heartfelt song birthed from a personal journey of loss, healing, and unwavering faith in God. The song stands as a powerful reminder of God’s sovereignty, even in the face of death, declaring Him as the ultimate source of comfort and strength.
“Ebubedike” was inspired by one of the most challenging seasons of Ifeoma’s life—the illness and passing of her father. Shortly after receiving an award at AIT, she was faced with the devastating news of her father’s stage 4 cancer diagnosis, with doctors giving him only a few days to live. Refusing to accept the report, she dedicated herself to caring for him, putting aside her career in music and media to focus entirely on his well-being. By God’s grace, she was able to ease his pain for a time, but he eventually passed away shortly after returning home.
The loss left her deeply broken, especially as she had shared a close bond with both her parents, whom she regarded as pillars in her life. Within a span of three years, she also lost her mother and a beloved brother, leaving a profound void. In the midst of her grief, however, she encountered God in a new and powerful way. She found divine comfort in the assurance that God remains her eternal Father—one who never fails and continues to uphold her through every season.
Through “Ebubedike,” Ifeoma expresses her journey from pain to healing, affirming her faith in God’s power over death and His promise of eternal life. The song carries a message of hope, reminding listeners that even in loss, God’s love remains constant, and His victory over death assures believers of a glorious reunion in eternity.
