– Should We Submit To A Spiritual Father – John Apkami Responds
Veteran minister and founder of Global Revival Gospel Ministries, Dr. John Akpami, has raised questions about spiritual accountability and mentorship in Christian leadership.
In a recent video, Akpami was asked a question, whether a person can effectively lead others without first being submitted to a spiritual father. “Can I lead people without being submitted to a spiritual father?” the question reads.
The question has drawn attention to the growing conversation around spiritual fatherhood, mentorship and accountability within Christian ministry.

He discussed the importance of ministers maintaining relationships of honour, counsel, discipline and accountability with those they regard as spiritual fathers.
The latest question therefore appears to challenge ministers to examine the kind of accountability structures surrounding their leadership, particularly as they take on the responsibility of guiding others.
Should We Submit To A Spiritual Father
The comments have generated conversations among Christians about whether spiritual leadership should exist independently or within a structure of mentorship and submission, and what healthy spiritual fatherhood should look like in modern ministry.
