-Pool Of Siloam Jerusalem Accepted As Site Where Jesus Heals A Blind Man

The Pool of Siloam, located in Jerusalem and rediscovered in 2004 during infrastructure work, is widely accepted as the site where Jesus healed a blind man, as recorded in John 9:1–11.

Archaeologists uncovered stone steps, water channels, and a layout consistent with first-century Jerusalem, directly aligning with descriptions in the Holy Bible.

Historical texts, including those by the Jewish historian Josephus, reference the pool as a site of ritual purification, further supporting its identification.

The pool was constructed during King Hezekiah’s reign in the 8th century BCE to secure water for the city during the Assyrian siege, as detailed in 2 Kings 20:20 and 2 Chronicles 32:30. It was later expanded in the Second Temple period, becoming a significant gathering and cleansing site for pilgrims traveling to the temple.

Its location near the ancient City of David and the water source of the Gihon Spring further strengthens its identification as the biblical Pool of Siloam. The combination of archaeological evidence, historical accounts, and alignment with the Gospel narrative offers compelling support for its authenticity as the site of Jesus’ miracle.
