And the vessel that he was making from clay was spoiled in the hand of the potter; so he made it over, reworking it into another vessel as it seemed good to the potter to make it.” – Jer 18:4
There has never been a mistake God cannot turn out for good and there will never be a situation too bad that He cannot fix.
Just like the potter, he can remould our lives, correct our wrongs and ills and make them turn out according to His will but like the clay does not struggle or dictate what it wants to be made to the potter, we need to hands off the reins of our lives and let God.
We profess that we want to obey God but when the chips are down, we still want to have a say in the affairs and have our way at least on one or two occasions amidst the whole set.
The truth is wherever you are now and whatever shape your life is right now, if you will stop the struggle and let God, He can use this moment – today – in your life to grow you. Unless you learn what God is teaching you today, whatever the situation is, there will be no moving forward.
Every phase of my life, I have learned to pause at certain moment and tell God “Lord, I am in this moment, I thank you for this moment, I take in the lessons of this moment so I can move forward from this moment.”
I have found this prayer helpful and experience growth because God does not intend that you stay in a spot all your life but He will grow you through pain sometimes. The problem is we don’t like pain! But pain is most times necessary for growth.
