He sent hardships on you to test you, so that in the end he could bless you with good things.” – Deuteronomy 8:16b – John 6:32
God wants you to have a good knowledge of who you are in Him. He wants you to live free of sin, lack, sicknesses, poverty, and the likes.
But we find out that at times God will bring a Christian into hardship. Yes, God brings you into hardship at times, it’s not every trial that is caused by your disobedience.
The question is why will God bring His own child into hardship?
The eagle always stirs up its babies nest so that the baby can get out of the nest and learn to fly. The baby would not have left the nest any other way because it is comfortable.
In the same way, you will not begin to think of being an employer, if your boss does not give you a hard time on your current job. You may not learn to live better if God does not test you with a sickness and on the wider scale, the doctors may not discover a better way of treatment or drugs.
God sends hardship on us so that he can bless us and in turn bless others. So if you find yourself in the knowledge of God’s word but you are passing through a storm right now, it’s not because of your grave sin that God is punishing you. All you have to do is persevere, ask God to show you the things He wants you to learn from it and then, insist on what you want to see because it will not tarry, it will surely come!
