I realize your calendar is probably full enough to make Santa’s elves look like slackers, but these suggestions of things to do before the year finally roll over will help start the new year off on the right foot.
1. Avoid making resolutions.
New Year resolutions, I have observed, are ways by which an indiscipline person keep off doing stuff he enjoys for some few days but falls back to indulge more as the days go by. Therefore, avoid making resolution and if you must, ,Checkout No.2
2. Set inspiring goals.
Rather than resolutions, set powerful goals that tap into your deep emotional desires. Example: “In 2014, I will spend more time reading God’s word, pray more and get twice the result I got last year” Example: “In 2014, I will generate strategies and tactics that will achieve $1 million in sales.”
3. Take an entire day off.
Spend at least one entire day (yes, 24 hours) without answering your phone or reading emails. Instead, spend time with your friends, your family, and yourself. Read a book. Attend a community event. Have a fancy meal with no electronics allowed (sorry, kids!). Hug somebody.
If you want to, feel free to throw in a number four, which is to treat yourself to something nice, too, when all is said and done.
