– Kanye West Takes Major Step Towards 2020 Presidential bid

US Rapper, turned born again Christian Kanye West has taken a major step toward his 2020 Presidential bid by filling with the Federal Election Commission, seeking the office of President just days after making his intentions known.

Despite an earlier report which claimed that the Billionaire rapper had dropped out from the race, Kanye has filed with the Federal Election Commission and as also been granted the right for a ballot box in Oklahoma state with other states to follow suit soon.

Kanye filed the first form required by the FEC (Federal Election Commission,) on Wednesday and was confirmed by the deputy press officer of the Commission, Christian Hillland.  The form states that candidate Kanye West is seeking the office of the president, with his party affiliation listed as “BDY,” short for “The Birthday Party”

The Oklahoma State Election Board also confirmed the claim in a tweet Wednesday that independent presidential candidate West has qualified for the general election ballot in the state.

It was also gathered that a representative for West filed the necessary paperwork and paid the $35,000 filing to appear on the ballot. The rapper was one of three independent presidential candidates to pay the filing fee prior to the deadline, which was Wednesday. The others were concert pianist Jade Simmons and cryptocurrency entrepreneur Brock Pierce.

However, he’s yet to file the more important Form 2 – “Statement of Candidacy” – which shows he has raised or spent more than $5,000 in campaign activity and triggers candidacy status under federal campaign finance law.

This comes after several rumors that the rapper and mogul could drop out of the race after already failing to meet the deadline for registration in some states including Florida and Texas.
