Grammy Award-winning Gospel singer Kelly Rowland has dismissed the cancel culture, saying it has created a god complex among those promoting it.

The former Destiny Child singer went to Instagram on Thursday to thank God for His grace and forgiveness.

“In this ‘cancel culture’ we live in, I am SO grateful God NEVER canceled me, and I’m sure he could’ve many-a-times!” she said.

The “Say Yes” singer urged everyone to stop judging.

“We should try to remember not to judge others. We HONESTLY don’t have the space nor authority too! Let us remember to lead with love & kindness, the world has enough negativity, for you to pour more into it!”

Rowland ended the post with the hashtag “#StopTryinToBeGod”.

Rowland’s testimony was recently aired on the Hillsong channel’s new TV show “Now With Natalie,” a six-part series with wardrobe stylist Natalie Manuel Lee who sits down with Christian celebrities as they express their faith. Things they struggle with and their purpose in life.

Although pop icons are “immortalized through accolades, awards and the devoted attention of fans,” Kelly Rowland stressed that life is much more than that.

She further said during the interview that it was at Israel Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, she knew for the first time that singing was what she wanted to do all her life. Kelly Rawland also opened up on a moment in her life when she faced darkness because she was recognizing herself by fame.

Kelly Rowland’s public decry of the cancel culture followed the remarks of other celebrities in recent weeks which also stood against the culture.  Bill Maher, has also called for the abolition of the culture because of its impact on society.

Oliver Stone, a director also spoke out against the culture. He said he would have fallen victim to it if he started filmmaking in these times.
