– Pastors prayed for weight reducing spirit to deliver a woman from overweight

A video trending on social media has shown a group of people praying for an overweight woman that the spirit that reduces weight should come to the aid of the woman.

the video has stirred controversy and has also gone viral.

In the video, an overweight woman lies on the floor while some pastors are gathered around her, praying for “that spirit that reduces weight” to help the woman lose weight.

The video was posted on the Church’s YouTube page about a week ago but recently went viral and has gotten 31k views already. The video also shows the prayer sessions for other overweight people.

The YouTube page is the official page for a Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministries (CMDM) in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria.

OAP Freeze, who is always lashing out at pastors has criticized the video. Also, Makeup artist turned fitness instructor Segun Gele posted the video on Instagram, criticizing it.

To however generalize the fact that one person could not do something right define the whole of a group is taking undue advantage of the situation to pour out one’s bitterness.

Late Bishop Idahosa, in a video shared on social media some weeks ago by Gospel Music singer Nathaniel Bassey demonstrated how Christians are sometimes praying for the things were actions would simply suffice.

He put a cup down and commanded the water in the cup to enter his mouth. Having done that over and over again without any result, he picked up the cup and simply drank the water. He concluded by asking the congregation, “which one is quicker?”

The same can be applied in this situation. The bible clearly states that “wisdom is profitable to direct” (Ecclesiastes 10:10).
