LESSON FROM A BOAT CRUISE

“my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.
‘Because you have rejected knowledge,
I also reject you as my priests;
because you have ignored the law of your God,
I also will ignore your children.'”
-Hosea 4:6

The story is told of a man who went on a boat cruise and paid the same rate as everybody. He spend most of the time in his room and ate the things he brought on board.

The cruise ended and he was getting off the ship when a man who had closely observed him asked;

“How come you don’t come out to eat with the rest of us?”

“Oh, I only paid for the cruise, I didn’t pay for the food”

The man who asked the question was amazed at his response, he answered him saying;

“But the fee for the cruise already covers everything including your feeding expenses. You mean you missed out on the nice meals just because of this reason?”

This is similar to the life christians live in some cases, Christ has paid everything for us to live a fulfilled life but it takes the knowledge of the word to activate this promises. How can one proclaim, or even defend something he does not know? We need to dig deep into the word with the help of the Holy Spirit to live a victorious christian life!
