For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.
—Colossians 1:9–10 NIV
God’s Word encourages us to strive for perfection by growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, having integrity, as our heavenly Father is perfect (See Matthew 5:48).
Paul said that even though he had not attained the ideal of perfection, he pressed on to grasp and make his own that for which Christ had laid hold of him (See Philippians 3:12). We, too, should press toward maturity and integrity today. – Joyce Meyers
Having a perfect wisdom of the will of God for the “now” and an understanding of what He is doing can make us live a victorious life everyday such that nothing catches us by surprise and we also know that nothing bad can happen to us, not because test and trial will mot come, but because it will ultimately work for our good.
