NIKKI LAOYE'S "1-2-3" ON YAHOO VOICES – LABELLED THE NEW SOUND OF AFRICAN DANCE

NikkiLa 123 pic4Nikki Laoye’s new video for the song “1-2-3” seems to still be doing numbers as it extends beyond the frontiers of Nigeria. Erastus Phillip, a  member of Yahoo Contributor Network, a forum that allows writers contribute to Yahoo by writing their own features choosing from a variety of topics, wrote an interesting article about Nikki Laoye’s “1-2-3” video and in his words, say It “is the new sound of African Dance.”

According to him, “Nikki Laoye has constantly shown her versatility and eclectic style of music ever since she came on the Nigerian Music scene, sharing the stage with international artistes like Kirk Franklin, Chanelle of Tri-ni-tee 5:7 and the legendary R & B singer Mary J Blige. In 2013, she was one of the headline acts at a Memorial Concert held in honor of African political hero, Nelson Mandela, and her performance on the night was dubbed as one of the most captivating, as she floored everyone with her vocal dexterity and captivating dance steps…

the release of her latest video in April 2014, has gotten not a few tongues wagging, with the infectious harmonies and captivating dance moves, ”1-2-3” has been tagged as one of the best dance videos out of Nigeria in 2014! She captures some of her finest moves from her stage performancesand wraps them up in this colorful and addictive video. It also surprised many who had no idea the singer could dance as well as she sings.”
