For a long time, I’ve dealt with the issue of temper and impatience. I’m one of those “Now” people who have plans and want things to go that way. It stems from being a detailed person but then it becomes obsessive and it affects my mood and I could get angry easily. Then I get one of the days when it’s like things are falling apart like a pack of cards and that does upset me. But then I find out, these things that happen are mostly my fault! You wonder How?
Many of us think that because of the things that happen to us, we have bad moods. We are controlled by the circumstances around us. If things stop going our way, our moods Change but that never changes the situation, does It? What happens really is that when we are in “bad moods” we create an atmosphere of joblessness. That way, the devil has room to operate and trust me he does the things he knows will tick you off the most. When we lose our joy over things, we create an atmosphere that is not conducive for God! That way things can only go downhill for us. Hope we get the Picture?
The other day, I went to the market. It was really muddy and I tried my best to avoid getting my legs in the mud. I had succeed for most of the day and then as we were leaving the market, I got upset. I was grumbling in my mind and the next thing, this woman stepped on me and I had this large slipper mark of mud on my foot. Of course that upset me the more, and then I found that I kept slipping and getting my legs dirtier. It was at this point I realized, I was leaving room for the devil to play around with my emotions. The moment I let go, things did get better, I was able to find somewhere to clean up my feet and to even Rest!
We often wonder why bad things happen to the good People! why they get away with all sorts, why we the Bible reading, prayer warrior Christians get the worst of it all!
“Sometimes the reason bad things happen to good people is because of their bad dispositions!”
So, the next Time you find yourself in such situations, check yourself. Could this be you sending God out and letting the enemy In? God is a God of joy and happiness! He inhabits the praise of His people, or in His presence there is fullness of joy! Let your life always be that of joy so God enjoys being around you too, He’ll have his angels working in your favour and His Spirit will be your Guide! Stay joyful and watch God Act! how do you think David did It? Or even Paul? I mean Paul was in prison praising and God sent an earthquake to break his chains and the gates!
