Where Did This Man Get This Wisdom and Power

Wow! It’s good to be able to do this again after so long!

For as many people that followed this series to the 15th episode will agree with me that it was eye opening and quite fulfilling. I know it was.

Anyways without further ado, I like to quickly talk about Jesus, like we always do on Sunday morning and I want you to see yourself as the man in out sub-topic.

The good book said in Matthew 13;54:

He came to His hometown and began teaching them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said, “Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?

The word of the Lord shows our identity in Jesus. We may in some ways act like everybody else, talk from the mouth like everyone else, eat and do all the things humans do scientifically but make no mistake, we are not like everyone else and if Jesus must come alive in us, we have to realise our true identity. The word of the Lord said as He is so are we in this world. Therefore, we may be in our familiar territories but we can in no way do familiar things!

55. Is not this the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary, and His brothers, James and Joseph and Simon and Judas?

When the people couldn’t understand the power with which Jesus was operating, they tried to rationalise His existence with physical things. However, life is spiritual and this governs the physical. It doesn’t matter the background, the education or status, as you mirror Jesus in deeds and act; as your result becomes more astonishing based on the knowledge of Jesus which is on your inside, people will try to rationalise your result but don’t be caught up in the band wagon, not for once as to believe that your result can be rationalised. The more of the revelation of Jesus Christ, the more the manifestation of his will so that you grow root downwards and bare fruit upward.

“And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this man get all these things?

This part reminds me of when the people from the ship looked on to Paul expect him to die, when he didn’t drop dead, they labelled him a god. Jesus has given us all the examples we need and we see it happening today how scientist are trying to rationalise the creation story, planets, evolution of man, etc. Just like those who where wondering about Jesus, there will always be a loophole in the story because you cannot use the physical to explain the spiritual. The people asked all rhetorical questions they can asked knowing fully well that the fact shows that yes, Jesus is Mary & Joseph’s son yet they could not explained where His wisdom and knowledge came from. That same power is on the inside of you. Jesus put the power in you so that you can be like Him and be transformed from Glory to Glory even as you mirror Jesus.
